About me

My name is Carima Nolten and I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor (MBACP) with a background in education and expertise in Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH).

My Approach…

While my approach to counselling is both creative and integrative in nature, I draw from various different modalities, including attachment, psychodynamic, person centred, cognitive-behavioural, as well as using trauma-informed play and arts-based approaches.

Emotional health provides the foundation for long-term wellbeing and I believe that all people deserve a safe, confidential space in which they can be supported. When children or adults feel overwhelmed by emotions or difficult circumstances, healthy development can become stuck, impacting learning, behaviour and overall wellbeing.

As a counsellor, I embrace a responsive and flexible approach, offering an empathic, non-judgemental and safe space for clients to explore and express feelings and thoughts around life experiences and challenges they may be facing in their own chosen way, whether it is through talking therapy or through various creative/play/art -based mediums.
